After the renovation of the Hotel am Sophienpark, the 1733 Restaurant & Bar will be a popular address at Sophienstraße 14 in Baden-Baden. Right in the center, where the world meets, we will be a place where people like to come together. What could be better than Levante cuisine? Joachim Altvater combines French culinary art, oriental sophistication and regional ingredients to create a magical taste experience. A table full of delicious mezze to share, a fine glass of wine and good conversation – that’s pure joie de vivre.

Deeply rooted in the region, Altvater has built up an outstanding reputation over the years – including through his work on luxury liners and in many local restaurants that excel at the highest level. He combines his passion for exceptional, international cuisine with his love of French cooking and regional ingredients. This is how he creates a unique taste experience.
He lives by the philosophy of indulging the palate with a harmonious blend of time-honored recipes and modern, creative approaches, while always focusing on the respectful use of products and sustainable sources.
