Time for spring feelings
Crocuses, music, and the first butterflies
As soon as the first sunbeams tickle your nose, the large carpets of crocuses bloom in Lichtentaler Allee. In front of the street cafes, one enjoys their espresso, meets nice people, and plans activities for the most beautiful time of the year.
The Hotel am Sophienpark is located right in the center of Baden-Baden. The thermal baths, trendy restaurants, the Kurhaus with casino and exclusive shopping addresses are just a few steps away. Simply take this concentrated load of joie de vivre with you, just the right thing for a great start to spring.

IMPOSSIBLE 02. MÄRZ – 26. MAI 2024
With the exhibition Impossible, the Museum Frieder Burda aims to present the impossible as an alternative model of an increasingly deceptive reality.
From Yves Klein and Sigmar Polke to the great photographers Jeff Wall, Thomas Demand and Andreas Gursky, from Anish Kapoor or Peter Fischli and David Weiss to more recent positions such as Alexandra Bircken or Goshka Macuga: the show goes back to the origins of art and image-making, to the belief in the power and possibilities of art, which can shift and recompose everything – places and times, the proportions of things and their contexts.
MR. M’S JAZZ CLUB 14. – 16. March

Dependance
The excitement couldn’t be greater! In April, we open our annexe at the end of the hotel park. Stéphanie de Beauharnais had the beautiful Schweizerhaus built for her daughter, while she herself received her summer guests in the park’s grand palace.
When Albert Rößler expanded the Holland Hotel into the first grand hotel on the square in 1900, he turned the Schweizerhaus into a superbly equipped automobile house. It was converted into the kosher Hotel Tannhäuser in 1907 and became a wine bar in the 1950s.
Given this eventful history, we wanted to approach the project with the necessary reverence. A lot of wood was handcrafted for the extension, wall panels were recreated and a restrained coziness was created. We remained true to the style of Albert Rößler, who only ever chose very modern and exclusive interiors for his houses.
SLOW SHOPPING
You can take all the time in the world. Right outside our hotel door you find the exclusive addresses of Baden-Baden such as Bogner or Hermes, G. K. Mayer shoes or AS Luxury & Vintage with second-hand brand bags. Van Laak towards Leopoldsplatz or the excellently stocked bag stores N° 8 and INKA.
You can also visit beautiful galleries, jewelry stores or get advice on art deco furniture. Have we forgotten anything? Probably. But don’t worry, we’ve certainly awakened your spirit of discovery.
Stroll through a city that will never stress you out. Which always offers a good coffee at the right time. How about the colonnades? They are unique because they were modeled on a building in Paris. Like so many things in Baden-Baden.
Merkur funicular
With its striking shape, the Merkur is Baden-Baden’s local mountain.
Climb aboard and ascend the 669-metre-high Merkur summit with the help of Germany’s longest funicular railroad, just as the people of Baden-Baden have been doing since 1913. You can enjoy the 54% incline for a whole 1200 meters.
A beautiful restaurant with a large sun terrace awaits you at the top. From here you have a great view of the Eben and the paragliders.
If you want to climb a few more meters, large rhododendron bushes, a geological nature trail and a lookout tower await you. In fact, there is still a Roman find here with the god Mercurius, who gave the mountain its name.
WELLNESS UNLIMITED
The Caracalla Spa is the most popular and most modern thermal bath in Baden-Baden because of its large sauna area. On more than 4000 square meters you can bathe extensively in different pools and whirlpools. Thereby you release all tensions with the many massage jets and fountains.
The Friedrichsbad welcomes you as a historical bathing facility in Irish-Roman style. However, you are only allowed to enter the bath unclothed. You need a lot of time for the 17 bathing stations or you can rent the private little emperor’s bath and be luxuriously, noblesse style, all to yourself.
In both spas different massages and beauty treatments can be booked in addition.
