FINEST ARTS – BIKE TOUR – Gourmets paradise

From Which Months Does Such Magic Emanate as from May and June?

May and June are pure enchantment! The trees glow in lush green, regional asparagus is at its peak, and one exciting event follows the next. As the days grow longer and the evenings milder, Baden-Baden truly comes to life.

Whether you’re savoring fresh seasonal delicacies, strolling through blooming gardens, or indulging in cultural highlights—these months invite you to experience the region in its most vibrant and authentic way. We’ve gathered some fantastic tips on how to make the most of May and June in a typically Baden style. Let the magic unfold!

Falstaff Wine & Gourmet Festival in the Congress hall. We are part of it

FALSTAFF WEIN & GOURMET FESTIVAL

In June, the great Conference Hall (Kongresshaus) is transformed into a temple of pleasure, where star chefs and top winemakers showcase their skills live. Wine tastings, show cooking acts, workshops and panel discussions show the backgrounds and philosophies of the chefs and winemakers. In addition, you can taste your way around the epicurean exhibitors.

At great side events such as theme dinners in selected restaurants, rarity tastings, Big Bottle Party, Art & Champagne, you will also get to know Baden-Baden’s gastronomy better. So where better to feast than in Baden-Baden in June? You can find the entire program here. Did you know that we provide the catering at the Kongresshaus? Therefore, the Falstaff event is not only a great honor for us, but also a great motivation.

With the exhibition Poetry of Light, the Museum Frieder Burda is celebrating one of the great pioneers of Abstract Expressionism: the painter, sculptor and photographer Richard Pousette-Dart (1916–1992). Around 140 works from six decades provide an opulent overview of the multifaceted oeuvre of one of the most important artists of American postwar abstraction.

Scenic BIKE TOURS

On two wheels you simply see more of the landscape. It is quite uncomplicated to rent a bike with and without motor. If you wish, you can also book entire tours.

Some appreciate the leisurely spaciousness of the Rhine plain, others prefer to plunge downhill and love the steep climbs in the Black Forest. A demanding mountain bike network leaves nothing to be desired. The Tourist Information in the Kurhaus Kolonnaden or Rent-a-Sportsman offer guided mountain bike tours and e-bikes: Eisenbahnstraße 1, Mobile: 0049 172 7214280

We recommend a pleasure tour of about 12 km to Favorite Castle in Förch. You take the bike path along the feeder road, ride through the underpass at the train station and then keep right on the bike path towards Haueneberstein. From here at the latest, the bike path to the castle is signposted.

In Baden genießt man saisonale Produkte von hoher Qualität, dafür ist die badische Küche berühmt, Spargel, Erdbeeren, Kratzeder oder frische Forellen mit passendem badischen Wein dazu sind eine Delikatesse

TYPICAL CUISINE OF BADEN

You have arrived in the gourmet paradise that is called Baden. Located in Southwest Germany between Black Forest and Rhine Valley. What is actually typically Baden?

The region is blessed with a mild climate and fertile soils, that´s why people prefer to eat according to the season. The food must be fresh and of excellent quality. To match the food, the Badener is guaranteed to find an excellent wine. Especially in recent years, some new young winemakers have drawn attention to themselves.

In May we recommend asparagus in all variations. Perhaps with “Kratzeder”, an egg cake battered in the pan? Or rather with a freshly caught trout? A sorrel soup beforehand and strawberries or a rhubarb cake with cream for dessert? Schneider’s wine tavern or old inns in the vineyards are our recommendations here.
