The Most Beautiful Hiking Trail for Autumn
Misty Valleys and Panoramic Trails in Baden-Baden
Light morning mist lingers over the valleys until the sun breaks through, bringing pleasantly mild temperatures. Each day the forests glow in more vibrant colors, and the views become even more breathtaking. One of the most beautiful panoramic routes awaits you on the award-winning circular trail around Baden-Baden – and the best part is, you can tailor it entirely to your own pace.
If you’d like to start directly from the city center, head towards the Neues Schloss and hike up via Hungerberg to the Altes Schloss. Take your time exploring these historic ruins, the impressions and vistas are nothing short of spectacular. On breezy days, a large wind harp set into a castle window fills the courtyard with almost ethereal tones.
For a shorter option, choose the Battert circular route or follow the Panoramaweg to the Merkur valley station. From there, you can ride the mountain railway to the summit, where a fine restaurant with a panoramic terrace awaits you. A detailed route description can be found here.
