WINTER SPORTS IN THE BLACK FOREST
As soon as the first flakes fall, our children’s eyes sparkle again. When was the last time you had a snowball fight, sledded down slopes laughing, or drew an angel in the snow?
Only 30 km from the hotel a dreamlike winter world is waiting for you. The direct line X45 to Hundseck, Seibelseckle, Mummelsee and Ruhestein leaves from Leopoldsplatz nearby.
From all stops you can go directly to hikes, snowshoe tours or skiing. There is a perfect cross-country skiing center in Herrenwies, where you can also rent the complete equipment. Winter sports are very important to us, so you will find the best conditions everywhere.

FREIZEIT- UND SPORT-ZENTRUM MEHLISKOPF. Snow Funpark & downhill
The Mehliskopf offers fantastic opportunities for all winter sports enthusiasts. The piste is perfectly groomed and the snow park with 28 Obstakles is a great challenge. On 32,200 square meters you can have a lot of fun with perfectly shaped kickers, lots of rails and boxes for boarders and skiers.
There is a ski and snowboard school as well as an excellent rental shop. If you want to set off on peaceful snowshoe hikes from here, you have wonderful opportunities in the Black Forest National Park.
In the Strotzl Alm – Sportalp am Mehliskopf you can enjoy a cozy stop for a bite to eat or have a little refreshment in the pavilion by the piste.
SNOW PARADISE FOR CHILDREN
On Hundseck you will find a well-prepared toboggan slope right next to the ski slope. The sun shines on it until the afternoon, which is especially healthy for the children.
The ski slope on Hundseck is ideal for beginners. And what is especially convenient for travelers: you can also rent ski equipment right there in the store.
Very young children can either practice on the flatter part first or go one stop further to Seibelseckle. Here the regular slope is more challenging, but there is a small demarcated part for the very young children to practice. You can never start early enough with winter sports.
You can stop at Hundseck or Seibelseckle comfortably.
Thermal Water & Saunas
How wonderful to warm up again in the Caracalla Spa after a day in the snow.
You will find pure relaxation in the many thermal pools with different temperatures. Jump into the hot pool, then into the really cold water! This trains the immune system and is good for the muscles.
Do you go for more? Then the Caracalla also offers a wonderful sauna area with 5 saunas and a steam bath inside and a forest sauna and fire sauna outside. More about our winter offers here
