The ultimate bucket list for a gorgeous summer 2023 in Baden-Baden
Summer lasts long and the spa town unfolds its incomparable charm. Hardly any other place offers so many attractions in a contemplative space. If you want to sleep on a bed of roses, you can take advantage of our great offers for direct bookers.
FLea markets
For those who love the flea market feeling in summer, there are a few nice dates for flea markets and the antique market in the middle of Baden-Baden. A few years ago, someone got hold of a plate from Napoleon’s time, the value of which exceeded the purchase price by a thousand times. You have to be lucky and have a good nose.
In any case, the experience can always be combined with a cappuccino in the surrounding cafes.
Flea market in the Kaiserallee: June 17 from 8:00-15:00.
Antique market in the Trinkhalle Baden-Baden always 10:00 to 18:00:
June 10-11
August 12-13
October 7-8
parks & gardens
The Lichtentaler Allee along the creek Oos is the largest park in Baden-Baden with a length of 3.5 km and impresses with its exotic tree population. You find the Gönneranlage in the middle of this park with its colorful rose beds and an impressive fountain.
If you want to take a short hike up the Beutig, you will be rewarded with probably the most beautiful rose garden and a scenic view. Every year, the rose novelties are given their names here. Certainly, the concerts of the Philharmonic Orchestra also contribute to the fact that the roses grow especially splendidly on the large arches and borders:
Rose concert “Iberia” with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra on June 24 and 25.
Mondkino (moonshine cinema, outdoor) 3.08.-27.08. Always Thursdays until Sundays at 9 pm
Philharmonic Park Night in the Alley
July 29, 19:00 – 23:00 in the Lichtentaler Allee
“I want to dance!” That`s the motto of this year’s Park Night. Like last year, Baden-Baden is expecting a few thousand listeners who will start dreaming under the illuminated tree giants of Lichtentaler Allee while listening to wonderful music. The atmosphere could not be more beautiful. Everyone brings a picnic, some even with set tables, candelabras and fine silver. For others, a simple blanket and a glass of wine will do. Just be yourself.
A colorful program of the well-known philharmonic orchestra awaits you. The entrance is free. There are chairs right by the stage, the rest of the lawn is of free use.

DUCK RACE FOR CHARITY
On July 2, at 2 p.m. at the Klosterwiese in the Lichtentaler Allee, it’s “On your mark, get set, go!” when countless ducks in the coolest outfits start for a swimming race in the Oos. Young and old cheer on the athletes and cheer at the finish line. After all, there are only winners in a charity race, because every participation prize is donated to a good cause. In this way, the Round Table Baden-Baden has proven for years that cohesion can be a lot of fun.
Would you like to cheer on our Sophienpark duck? That would be great!

The most beautiful place for a sunset
It is not easy to say where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunset. The water fountains at the Paradies came into the conversation or the Old Castle. But then we thought that the local mountain Merkur is a very special spot. When you look out over the Rhine Valley to the Vosges mountains at an altitude of 680 meters and can eat and drink deliciously on the terrace of the Merkurstüble, the world seems completely in order.
If you want to avoid the ascent and descent, you can easily take the mountain railroad.
The absolute highlight: 16/17 June at 8:30 pm summit concert with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra. 16€-32€
BERLIN-BERLIN
Festspielhaus Baden-Baden June 23/24/25: The great show of the Golden Twenties from the Admiralspalast.
Berlin, Berlin in Baden-Baden? Glimmer meets glamour, some think, and others immediately dream themselves away: to the capital’s cesspool of the Golden Twenties with its freedoms, upheavals, travesty bars and jazz pubs. Marlene Dietrich’s cigarettes and Josephine Baker’s banana skirt, the green cactus of the Comedian Harmonists and the sable fur of Anita Berber.
You go to sleep at 9 a.m. and wake up at 10 with a glass of champagne. “Everything so beautifully crazy here!” And the dance on the volcano begins anew. (Photo: Jens Hauer. Source: Festspielhaus Baden-Baden)
OLDTIMER MEETING
From July 7-9, 2023, 350 classic cars from all over Europe will once again rattle to the Kurpark grounds for the Concours d’Élégance Automobile. What an experience when an original from 1910 drives past you! The collector’s items come from very different decades and are lovingly staged by their owners. The matching outfit is put on, the picnic table is set up and the champagne bucket is filled with ice. Here a press photo, there a snapshot and always a great atmosphere!
The absolute highlight will be the special show “75 Years of Porsche” with 75 vehicles from the sports car manufacturer.

Art meets City
July 15 – September 13. Free admission.
Nevin Aladağ will transform the Kurgarten into a sensually designed art venue this summer. She has a keen sense of what connects and brings people together. Above all, it is music, the language of instruments and song, that can define a terrain, whether indoor or outdoor, as a place of communion. Sound replaces walls and is open and boundless.
Light creates atmospheric moments of welcome, carpets build bridges between worlds, music transcends boundaries between people: The artist and Documenta 14 participant was born in Turkey, grew up in Stuttgart and now lives in Berlin. She makes decisive settings in public space, defining it as a place of diverse encounters.
The balloons are still from the exhibition with Jeppe Hein, the first project of “Art meets City”.
shakespear in love
This summer Shakespear in Love will bring the audience to thunderous applause on the historic market square in Baden-Baden. The Theater Baden-Baden always creates precision landings with its plays. No wonder, because the ensemble is as diverse as it is brilliant. One can be particularly curious about the stage design, because the theater demonstrates great ingenuity here every year.
The young author Will Shakespeare is in a writing crisis, old master Marlowe has to souffle him. The competition begins. Viola already seems to be able to solve the mess, but … The film of the same name, which won seven Oscars, became a worldwide success in 1998.
The setting is also defined by the Old Steam Bath, the Friedrichsbad, the New Castle and the Collegiate Church. This is uniquely beautiful and atmospheric. Tickets are available from the ticket service in the Kolonnaden or directly online from Theater Baden-Baden.
Open-air stage Theater am Marktplatz: 30.06. Premiere of Shakespear in Love
All dates in July: 2./5./7./8./9./12./13./14./15./16./18./20./21./22./
Time for a swim
Even in summer, the Caracalla Spa is a wonderful place to relax and located just around the corner. The water temperature is somewhat lowered and the outdoor area is much emptier than in the outdoor pools.
The Bertholdbad exudes the charm of the 60s. Where else can you find the original string-covered loungers and the typical pavilion for refreshments. The best part: This nostalgic bath is located directly on Lichtentaler Allee. Opening hours 07:30 – 21:00.
The Hardbergbad is ideal for swimmers who want to do laps and children who are already allowed on larger slides. It is idyllically situated on a slope in the western part of the city. Opening hours 10:00 – 20:00. Hardbergstraße 32, 76532 Baden-Baden, Germany
Strandbad Sandweiher (little beach resort at a lake) is a quarry pond (Kühlsee) with a sandy beach and a large meadow area. Permanent supervision by the Stadtwerke on weekdays and Saturdays. Lifeguards of the DLRG local group on Sundays. Opening hours 10:00 – 20:00.
